Cap constructions

At LOX by Lori, we currently offer 3 different cap constructions; Full lace; Beginner; Lace Front.

Each construction uses HD lace enabling a more discreet blend to your skin making your wig practically undetectable! Each cap includes a removable silicone lined band and adjustable straps around the nape for extra security as well as the option to have hair combs added (great if you still have some hair to grip into!)

All of our wigs come with a super natural hairline - no dark visible knots here! Our hairlines have been created to perfection and don't worry, no over-plucking goes on here either. We want only natural hairline's with maximum longevity!

Now lets dive a little deeper!

detailed description of our Beginner wig cap construction

Beginner

Our beginner cap is my personal favourite cap construction for your everyday 'grab and go' wig. This option is more durable due to the wefted tracks to the rear.

The HD lace front consists of a 13"x 5.5" free parting space allowing you to customise your parting (middle/ side etc).

This cap requires no adhesives as the metal silicone stays constructed within the ear tabs allow for moulding against your head for a snug, secure fit.

The silicone strips at the rear provide additional security and grip, especially suited for those with significant hairloss.

This cap is a versatile option and still allows for certain styles however care should be taken that the weft's are not exposed.

Detailed description of our full lace wig cap construction

Full lace

Our full lace wig is our most expensive construction due to the hair being individually knotted across the full cap.

The HD lace front consists of a 13"x 6" free parting space completed with a more durable lined lace to the rear. This protects the lace increasing longevity and comfort.

This cap still provides a snug/ secure fit however may require some adhesive by the front of the ears to prevent the lace in this area from flapping. Adhesives are optional however.

This cap is our most versatile option and allows for full free parting space across the full cap. This is best should you like to wear your hair in a high ponytail or braids.

However, due to the delicate construction of this cap, it is our most expensive option and our least durable.

Lace Front

Our lace front cap construction is our most affordable option albeit one of the more durable options due to the wefted tracks.

The HD lace front consists of a 13"x 6" free parting space allowing you to customise your parting (middle/ side etc).

This cap still provides a snug/ secure fit however may require some adhesive by the front of the ears to prevent the lace in this area from flapping. Adhesives are optional however.

This cap construction is great if you are looking for volume and thickness as the wefted tracks allow for more hair weight.

This cap is a versatile option and still allows for certain styles however care should be taken that the weft's are not exposed.

Glueless Lace Front

Our brand new Glueless lace front cap construction is a combination between our Beginner and Lace Front cap.

The HD lace front consists of a 13"x 6" free parting space allowing you to customise your parting (middle/ side etc).

This cap incorporates silicone lined metal ear stays enabling you to mould the lace to the shape of your face providing a glueless fit. There are silicone strips to the rear of the wefted cap construction like our Beginner cap allowing for extra security.

This cap construction is great if you are looking for volume and thickness as the wefted tracks allow for more hair weight.

This cap is a versatile option and still allows for certain styles however care should be taken that the weft's are not exposed.

Wig Guide

Density &Hair Length

Now lets move onto density and hair lengths! There can be a lot of jargon within the wig world which can make it very confusing and overwhelming when trying to select the right wig for you!

Let me break this down for you...

Hair length is measured in inches varying from 10"- 24" in length and is measured from the nape.

Density is the word used by wig companies to describe the overall look of thickness/ volume of the wig and is described by percentage.

The most popular densities are 130%, 150% and 180% which are shown (left to right) in the above image. We do offer 200% density wigs however this will only be as a custom order.

As you can see, 180% density provides a more voluminous look, particularly to the ends, of the wig giving a much thicker/ fuller finish.

If you are looking for a much more natural, lightweight wig then choosing between a 130-150% density wig will be best suited.

Choosing the right density is a big decision so carefully consider what type of look, feel and finish you wish to obtain from wearing your wig. Many choose to try replicate their bio hair in instances of hairloss which may have been finer and others take this as an opportunity to have thick hair they maybe never had!

Take consideration into how you will be wearing your wig the majority of the time too, if your hair will be tied back for work, a lower density may be more comfortable. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Size guide

Finally, selecting the correct cap size is crucial to that perfect and snug fit. I battled for so long wearing wigs that were poor-fitting and baggy at the back, which is why I wanted to make sure ours are the best fit.

You will need to take the above 6 measurements in order to ascertain the best cap size for you, these are shown in the image above. This can be slightly fiddly so if you have a trusted person that can assist you, this may be easier and make a note of each measurement (inches).

Once you have taken the measurements, compare this against the tables below specific to the cap construction which you would like. Your measurements may not be exact to the table below however always size up if you are in between sizes.

Please note, the beginner cap runs slightly smaller due to the integrated ear tabs.
